Since no student can truly understand and appreciate Western culture without some knowledge of the Bible, it is worthwhile to introduce all students to many of the Judaeo-Christian narratives which make-up a fundamental part of Western tradition and religion. The Epitome Historiae Sacrae (or Summary of Sacred History), a classic work by Charles-Fran�ois Lhomond (1727-1794), which has been in regular use for over two centuries, is here resurrected for the modern student of Latin. About the Author
Roberto Carfagni is a well-known teacher of Latin by the nature method, developed by Hans �rberg, and has acquired a long experience in the spoken use of the language.� He taught Latin literature in the Academy Vivarium novum for four years, and has studied the pedagogical ideals of Italian Humanism.

This IS the book you're looking for.

UPDATE: After looking around a bit on Amazon, I have discovered that the review I wrote is being displayed for very different versions of this book. My comments refer specifically to the version co-written by Luigi Miraglia and published by Focus Publishing. If the page you're looking at doesn't name that author or publisher, what I'm saying here doesn't apply.
Regarding the Focus Publishing edition:
On the off chance that this might be the updated version of the book from Focus Publishing, I decided to order it. This is the updated book. The text is large and clearly printed. All the macrons are included. And most important, copious pictures and notes--all in Latin--have been added to the margins by Luigi Miraglia (who has taken up the torch of the sorely missed Hans �rberg).
This book follows the same pattern as Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata. Short stories in Latin are shown side-by-side with labeled pictures and clarifications of the language being used. Every word of the stories and the explanations is in Latin. If you have finished reading Familia Romana, you should be able to read this book quite easily.

A classic text by Charles Francois Lhomond infused with the excellent vacabulary-building technique of Hans Henning Oerberg

My favorite supplement to the LLPSI series of books, whose introductory textbook is "Familia Romana." It is a vivid retelling of some of the most memorable stories of the Holy Bible, originally published in 1784 by a pious Frenchman. The prose is lucid and simple. The presentation is as that of other books in the so-called "nature method." That is,
New words, when impossible to assimilate otherwise, are explained either by way of ever-helpful illustrations or by straightforward marginal notes: thus, the meaning of "antecedere" is clarified through an antonym, "sequi;" that of "decipere" through a synonym, "fallere;" that of "regulus" through a descriptive phrase, "parvus rex;" that of "trabs" through an image; that of "motus" though its source word, "movere;" and so on and so forth.
Highly recommended. But read "Familia Romana" first!
