About the Author
Corrado Ricci (1858 – 1934), scrittore e storico dell'arte italiano. Laureatosi in legge nel 1882 decise di abbandonare la "carriera" poetica, che era stata la sua prima aspirazione, per dedicarsi in maniera continuativa allo studio della storia e dell'archeologia, che peraltro aveva gi� affrontato in giovanissima et�. Promotore di iniziative di catalogazione e restauro, a Roma dal 1911 inizi� il recupero dei resti dei fori imperiali. Fond� (1922) l'Istituto di archeologia e storia dell'arte con l'annessa biblioteca. Come scrittore si occup� soprattutto della storia dell'arte.

A neglected Italian classic , Beatrice Cenci , offers a beautiflly written, beautifully translated look into late renaissance Italy.A story that begs for an old-fashioned Holywood spectacular with Elizabeth Taylor perhaps in the title role ,except that its basic topics of incest, patricide and papal wordliness wou;d have made it impossible to film in those days.Written in the early 20th century , the book is not at all dated or stilted.If anything it seems wholly ciontemoporary.
